The final homage to the renowned classical music maestro, Rashid Khan, was paid at Rabindra Sadan following his demise after a prolonged illness. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, along with Mayor Firhad Hakim, Minister Arup Biswas, Minister Indranil Sen, and prominent figures from the cinema world, gathered at Rabindra Sadan to bid farewell to the legendary artist. Rashid Khan's mortal remains are being transported to Uttar Pradesh, where he will be cremated in his birthplace, Budaun.
The state government accorded him a gun salute in recognition of his contributions to the field of singing, and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee personally consoled Rashid Khan's grieving family, highlighting his lively persona and the significant impact he made in the realm of music during his time in West Bengal.
